A router is an electronic device which connects two or more networks from different networks either wired or wireless and sends data packets from one network to another network.

How Does A Router Work

In technical language,  a router is considered in layer 3 of OSI model and has CPU, and various type of digital memory and I/O interfaces. It works for the special functions and doesn’t require keyboard or display.

A router’s memory stores an embedded operating system and it’s compared to general purpose operating system like Windows, Mac, router operating system limit any application can be run on them with the much small amount of storage space.
